Lattice QCD (LQCD) and Statistical hadronization models (SHMs) have come a long way in determining a singular chemical freeze-out surface on the QCD phase di-agram. More recently, there has been a paradigm shift to query the quark-hadron transition for quark flavor dependence, i.e., whether all quark flavors behave identi-cally as they transition into hadrons.
In this talk, I will discuss calculations from SHMs, LQCD, fluctuation measurements in heavy-ion collisions, and correlation between leading and next-to-leading charged hadrons within jets in simulation and connect their results to a quark flavor dependent hadronization. Furthermore, I will discuss the implication of these results on our current understanding of the hadronization process.
